Hazrat Abu Hurairah رضي الله عنه reports that Hazrat Rasulullah صلى الله عليه وسلم said, “Recite Durood upon me, for certainly it is a form of purification for you. Ask Allah Ta’ala جل جلاله to grant me the position of “waseelah”, which is a rank in the highest stages of Paradise that is reserved for only one person, and I hope that I am the one who is blessed with this honour and position.”

Commentary

Allaamah Sakhaawi (رحمه الله) states that, “Waseela literally means the thing through which a person is able to gain nearness to some high personality like a king. But in this hadith the reference is to a very high place in paradise as is further explained in the hadith, that it is a place in jannah.”

يَا رَبِّ صَلِّ وَسَلِّمْ دَائِمَاً أَبَدًا عَلَىْ حَبِيْبِكَ خَيْرِ الْخَلْقِ كُلِّهِمِ

“O Sustainer, shower Salaat and Salaam forever and ever upon Your beloved, who is the best of all creation.”

جَزَی اللہُ عَنَّا نَبِيَّنَا مُحَمَّدًا صَلَّی اللہُ عَلَیْه وسَلَّمَ بِمَا هُوَ أَھْلُهُ

May Allah Ta’ala جل جلاله reward our Nabi Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم on our behalf such a reward that is due to Him.
