Angels Travelling the Earth to Convery the Durood of the Ummah

عن ابن مسعود رضي الله عنه عن النبي صلي الله عليه وسلم قال ان لله ملآءكة سياحين يبلغوني عن أمتي السلام

Hazrat Abdullah bin Masood رضي الله عنه reports that Rasulullah صلي الله عليه وسلم said, “Verily Allah Ta’ala has (appointed) angels who travel throughout (the earth) only to convey to me the Salams of my Ummah.”

The Angel that Stands at the Blessed Grave of Sayyiduna Rasulullah

Hazrat Ammar bin Yaasir رضي الله عنه reports that Rasulullah صلي الله عليه وسلم said, “Verily Allah Ta’ala has (appointed) an angel at my grave who can hear the whole creation. Whenever any person sends Durood to me until the day of Qiyamah, this angel brings it to me together with the name of the person and his fathers’ name.”

Commentary

Hazrat Shaikhul Hadith Moulana Muhammad Zakariyya رحمه الله explains,

“There appears to be a contradiction between the above two Hadiths. One mentions that a single angel has been appointed at the Qabr of Rasulullah صلى الله عليه وسلم who hears all the Durood recited by the creation and conveys it to Rasulullah صلى الله عليه وسلم.  The other explains that there are many angels who travel throughout the earth to bring the Duroods recited to Rasulullah صلى الله عليه وسلم. There is no contradiction in reality because the angel at Rasulullah’s صلى الله عليه وسلم has the sole task of listening and convey ing the Duroods of the Ummah to Rasulullah صلى الله عليه وسلم. On the other hand, the travelling angels search for gatherings of zikr and when Durood is read therein, they bring it to Rasulullah صلى الله عليه وسلم.”
