Allamah Sakhaawi رحمه الله reports that if a person wishes to see Rasulullah صلى الله عليه وسلم in his dream, then he should recite the following Durood an odd number of times:
اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ كَمَا أَمَرْتَنَا أَن نُصَلِّيَ عَلَيْهِ اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ كَمَا هُوَ أَهْلُهُ، اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ كَمَا تُحِبُّ وَتَرْضَى لَهُ، اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى رُوحِ مُحَمَّدٍ فِي الْأَرْوَاحِ اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى جَسَدِ مُحَمَّدٍ فِي الأَجْسَادِ اللَّهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى قَبْرِ مُحَمَّدٍ فِي الْقُبُور
O Allah تبارك وتعالى send salutations upon Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم in the manner which You have commanded us to send salutations upon him. O Allah تبارك وتعالى Send salutations upon Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم as he is worthy (i.e. that which befits his esteemed position). O Allah تبارك وتعالى Send salutations upon Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم in the manner You love and You are pleased with. O Allah تبارك وتعالى Send special salutations upon the soul of Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم from among the souls. O Allah تبارك وتعالى Send special salutations upon the body of Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم from among the bodies. O Allah تبارك وتعالى Send special salutations upon the grave of Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم from among the graves.

يَا رَبِّ صَلِّ وَسَلِّمْ دَائِمَاً أَبَدًا عَلَى حَبِيْبِكَ خَيْرِ الْخَلْقِ كُلِّهِمِ
“O Sustainer, shower Salaat and Salaam forever and ever upon Your beloved, who is the best of all creation.”
جَزَی اللہُ عَنَّا نَبِيَّنَا مُحَمَّدًا صَلَّی اللہُ عَلَیْه وسَلَّمَ بِمَا هُوَ أَھْلُهُ
May Allah Ta’ala جل جلاله reward our Nabi Muhammad صلى الله عليه وسلم on our behalf such a reward that is due to Him.
